Synopsis
Lu Xingyan has never liked Jiang Ji.
Lu Xingyan has spent years losing one petty battle after another to Jiang Ji, his infuriatingly perfect, perpetually aloof older stepbrother. He dislikes him so much that, despite living under the same roof for years, he has never willingly called him “Bro.”
Then one day, Lu Xingyan discovers Jiang Ji’s secret: he likes men.
At last, an opportunity for revenge.
Convinced he has devised the perfect plan, the self-proclaimed straight Lu Xingyan decides to seduce Jiang Ji, make him fall hopelessly in love, and then dump him without mercy. Once Jiang Ji is thoroughly humiliated, Lu Xingyan will finally have avenged all those years of defeat.
And if pulling it off means acting sweet and obedient, learning to coax him, clinging to him, or even playing Jiang Ji’s well-behaved little puppy? Fine. It’s all part of the plan.
There’s just one small problem: Jiang Ji sees right through him. Instead of exposing Lu Xingyan’s scheme, Jiang Ji decides to play along.
What follows is a battle of flirting, scheming, one-upmanship, and increasingly questionable definitions of “pretending,” with Lu Xingyan absolutely convinced that Jiang Ji is wrapped around his finger, even as the so-called mastermind is led deeper and deeper into a trap of his own making.
Somewhere between pretending to fall in love and trying to make the other person fall first, however, their little game begins to look suspiciously like the real thing.
