Synopsis
Six years ago, an army of two hundred thousand from Yan Yuan marched eastward, pressing to the borders of Longsha.
At the brink of life and death, the ruler of Longsha exhausted every strategy—forming alliances and negotiating across powers. He sought a marriage alliance for the Crown Prince, requesting the Imperial Princess of Jian Nayun; sent one princess in a political marriage to the Wuchi royal court; dispatched the Third Prince as a hostage to Dongyu; and sent envoys to pay tribute to Xiling, acknowledging it as the suzerain state.
He forged kinship ties far and wide, shamelessly “recognizing fathers”, sacrificing the love and happiness of the next generation—
and at last, secured a fragile and precarious peace.
Six years later, the old ruler passed away from illness. According to the agreement made back then, Longsha would now send envoys to escort a high official from Xiling to Longsha, to act as regent and assist the next king.
When the news spread, the entire Xiling court was thrown into an uproar. Discussions erupted everywhere:
Which unlucky soul is going to be sent to play this role—
this “marriage princess”… no, wait… this regent?
Readers have widely reported that the original blurb was incomprehensible nonsense, so here is a simplified version:
A young assassin once performed a good deed and saved a “little cutie”.
Years later, the fox spirit “little cutie” takes the initiative to come knocking… to repay the favor.
