We have an important update regarding Godfather (干爹).
After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue our English translation of Godfather.
As we progressed further into the novel, we encountered content and themes that we are no longer comfortable translating and publishing on Futile Devices Scans. Because of this, we believe that ending the project is the right decision for us.
This was not a decision we made lightly. We know that some readers have been following the translation and were looking forward to seeing the story completed, and we sincerely apologize to everyone who will be disappointed by this announcement.
However, Futile Devices Scans is ultimately a hobby translation project, and we want the novels we work on to remain projects that we are comfortable spending our time translating, editing, and sharing.
For that reason, Godfather is officially discontinued effective September 4, 2026. There will be no further translated chapters.
Thank you to everyone who read, commented on, and supported the project while it was active. We genuinely appreciate the time you spent reading our work.
Our other translation projects are unaffected, and we’ll continue working on the novels currently in our lineup.
