ZL – Chapter 28: Everyone’s Year-End Challenge Part II

Zhou Xin He’s Challenge NO.1

The soccer field was located behind the gymnasium, with more than ten boys currently playing soccer there.

Ke Bu could clearly feel Zhou Xin He’s trembling body and couldn’t bear it anymore. “How about just one boy instead?”

Chu Hao Yu grinned maliciously. “Oho~~ so Ke Bu actually has feelings for Xin He. Good thing Zhi Li and his trusted subordinate aren’t here, or you’d already be dead.”

“Please don’t joke about something this dangerous. Don’t forget—if we die, we die together.”

Gong Zhu added, “Even one person is already difficult enough.”

After everyone’s “kind-hearted” discussion, they finally compromised on only needing one target. Though honestly, if they were truly kind-hearted, why not just cancel Zhou Xin He’s challenge entirely?!

Zhou Xin He kept taking deep breaths before running onto the soccer field and grabbing a boy. The boy stared strangely at the petite girl in front of him. “Do you need something?”

“Excuse me, do you think… think… I, I…”

Zhou Xin He’s face looked ready to burst into flames. Her left fingers were practically being twisted off by her right hand.

They’re doing this to help me overcome my timid personality. I have to do my best.

Even now, she remained this innocent.

Meanwhile, several boys nearby were already placing bets.

“Hurry up, place your bets! Ten bucks—will she say it or not?”

“The bet’s this small?”

“I’ve been losing too much lately. I’m saving my final comeback chance for Zhi Li’s challenge. No matter what, there’s no way he can make the chancellor kiss his hand, right? Even if You Yan helps him, is she seriously going to ask her own father to kiss Zhi Li? And even if she does, would the dignified chancellor actually agree? He’s famous throughout the university for being cold and strict.”

Meanwhile, Zhou Xin He was still stuck repeating her opening line.

Although being approached by a cute girl was nice, her stammering without saying anything made the boy impatient.

“What exactly is it? I don’t know you, do I?”

The moment the boy spoke, Zhou Xin He got even more nervous—

Then suddenly collapsed onto the field.

The group in the distance panicked and rushed over.

No way. Did she seriously faint from something this minor? Exactly how timid was she? She could look directly at Zhi Li, and there were still things in this world scarier than that?!

The group hurried over and shoved aside the flustered boy. After examining Zhou Xin He carefully, they realized that although her eyes were shut, her eyelashes and eyeballs underneath were clearly moving.

Everyone sighed in relief.

Ying Xiu Jie crossed his arms. “Stop pretending already. Are you planning to spend your entire life running away? Can someone like that even be considered a woman?”

“Don’t force your manly theories onto other people. It sounds really awkward,” Ke Bu replied.

Exposed, Zhou Xin He opened her eyes and climbed up from the ground. Chu Hao Yu and Ying Xiu Jie dragged the boy directly in front of her.

“Hurry up and say it! This is your chance to surpass yourself and make tomorrow better!”

Zhou Xin He’s face was crimson, forming a sharp contrast against the pale-faced boy opposite her. Surrounded by an entire group of people, the boy started wondering if this was some kind of confession support squad.

Zhou Xin He tightly shut her eyes and shouted with all her strength:

“What do you think of my figure?! My chest feels kind of tight!”

The boy froze.

His complexion slowly recovered, and just as he prepared to answer—

Zhou Xin He suddenly clutched her chest.

“I did it! I actually did it! Thank goodness!”

Then she turned and sprinted away.

The instant she disappeared, Chu Hao Yu and Ying Xiu Jie high-fived each other.

“Nice! We each won ten bucks.”

Everyone gradually dispersed, leaving behind only the thoroughly bewildered boy.

Gong Zhu’s Challenge NO.2

For someone completely uninterested in women, having Gong Zhu seduce one felt extremely awkward.

But the moment Gong Zhu emerged wearing Zhou Xin He’s clothes, he transformed into a beautiful girl.

Ke Bu had mentally prepared himself, but he never expected a man could genuinely become this feminine.

Also, he was way too skinny. His arms and legs were slender enough to look exactly like a woman’s.

Their target was a short-haired girl wearing androgynous clothing. Apparently, girls like that supposedly had higher chances.

Thus, the classic cliché scene unfolded.

Wearing a little white dress and carrying books, Gong Zhu deliberately bumped into her before stumbling dramatically to the floor.

“Ahh, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going.”

Gong Zhu softened his voice.

“It’s okay. Are you hurt?” The girl removed one earbud and crouched down to help gather the books.

Their fingertips brushed against each other.

Gong Zhu immediately withdrew his hand and pressed the touched fingers against his chest while biting his lower lip. Suddenly, huge tears began falling from his eyes.

The girl panicked instantly.

“What’s wrong? Did I hurt you?”

Gong Zhu turned his head aside and covered his face with his hand.

“I’m sorry. It’s not your fault. I’m just… this is so strange, why am I even telling you this? You don’t need to worry about me.”

Hidden around the corner, the others were dumbfounded.

“Has he been reading too many shoujo manga?”

“It’s a waste if he doesn’t become an actor.”

The girl picked up Gong Zhu’s books and looked at his tearful face.

“Did something happen?”

“I…”

Gong Zhu hesitated, unsure whether to speak, before finally seeming to gather his resolve.

“My family is very poor. My parents borrowed money so I could attend university because they want me to succeed. But the classmates in my class always bully me, calling me a bookworm and a boring girl. Still, I won’t give up. I can do well. I’ll make those classmates acknowledge me someday. I only wanted to become friends with everyone…”

“But now my father is starving because there’s no food at home. I… I don’t know what to do.”

The girl furrowed her brows tightly and gently wiped away Gong Zhu’s tears.

“You’re really strong. It’ll be okay. Heaven wouldn’t be cruel enough to make such a cute girl suffer like this.”

“C-Cute? You think I’m cute?”

Gong Zhu looked at her shyly in panic.

The girl blushed too.

The atmosphere between them suddenly became strangely delicate.

It wasn’t surprising. Gong Zhu currently looked unbelievably beautiful as a girl.

“V-very cute…”

Gong Zhu smiled reservedly and stood up while hugging the books.

“Then… you probably have things to do, right? I won’t bother you anymore. I-I’ll go first.”

The girl stared blankly after him.

Hidden in the shadows, Ke Bu nodded approvingly.

“Advancing while pretending to retreat. Impressive.”

Just as Gong Zhu was about to leave, he deliberately twisted his ankle and fell directly into the girl’s arms.

“Sorry! Look at me, I’m so clumsy. Seriously…”

Gong Zhu stuck out his tongue in embarrassment.

The tragic drama phase had already progressed into the next stage—the clumsy and adorable attribute had emerged.

“It’s okay. You should be more careful. What if you got hurt?”

“Sorry, I wasn’t wearing my glasses.”

Gong Zhu took out glasses from his bag and put them on before giving the girl a sweet smile.

Holy hell—that was way too fast.

The glasses attribute had appeared too!

“Now that I can see you clearly… y-you’re really…”

The girl became too shy to continue speaking, causing herself to blush too.

At that exact moment—

At the most inappropriate timing possible—

Two people appeared.

Su You Yan walked behind Zhi Li while carrying a notebook and suddenly said something horrifying enough to make everyone’s scalp tingle.

“Hao Yu’s points are almost maxed out this month. Xiu Jie’s about the same. They’ll need re-education soon. Oh right, it was Ke Bu who stole your books and scribbled all over them last time. Should I add another point for him?”

“Are we some kind of loyalty punch cards?!” Ke Bu exploded.

Ying Xiu Jie instantly covered his mouth. “Shh, keep your voice down. If they hear us, they might add another point.”

Apparently Ying Xiu Jie had already undergone “re-education” last month.

Unexpectedly, through this accident, Ke Bu suddenly witnessed the cruel reality of his life.

Exactly what kind of boyfriend had he found?!

The two stopped when they nearly passed Gong Zhu.

Gong Zhu froze in place and lowered his head, hoping not to be recognized.

Zhi Li stared.

And stared.

And stared some more.

Suddenly he turned his head.

“You Yan, go touch it.”

“Understood.”

Su You Yan walked forward and grabbed Gong Zhu’s chest before squeezing firmly.

The oranges stuffed inside burst apart.

Then she turned back to Zhi Li and shook her head.

“Fake.”

“So it really is Gong Zhu.”

“N-No, Lord Zhi Li, you’ve mistaken me.”

He was completely exposed!!

“Really?”

Zhi Li and Su You Yan casually walked away.

Never, ever provoke those two demons.

Gong Zhu’s challenge could barely be considered successful. Even a blind person could tell that girl had developed feelings for him.

Next—

Ying Xiu Jie’s Challenge NO.3

Ke Bu admitted Ying Xiu Jie was passionate and sometimes even clever.

But at other times, he was unbelievably stupid.

For example, right now.

He suddenly grabbed a girl from their class and said righteously:

“Can you let me try undoing your bra clasp?”

The girl covered her chest and slapped him immediately.

“Pervert!”

“Why are you hitting me? That’s not even something worth getting hit over.”

“What exactly qualifies as something worth getting hit over in your mind?” Ke Bu asked coldly.

Ying Xiu Jie ignored him and grabbed another girl.

“Hello, my name is Ying Xiu Jie. I don’t mean anything weird by it. I just want to undo your bra.”

Another slap landed.

Ying Xiu Jie wasn’t someone who gave up easily.

He grabbed yet another girl and suddenly bowed ninety degrees.

“I have a request. Please allow me to undo your bra.”

Another slap.

Ying Xiu Jie covered his face innocently.

“This makes no sense.”

Zhou Xin He blushed from the side.

“Xiu Jie, you really don’t understand women. That—”

Before she could finish, Chu Hao Yu interrupted her and draped an arm over Ying Xiu Jie’s shoulder.

“Xin He’s right. You don’t understand women at all. They’re hitting you because they’re embarrassed. You can’t ask—they’ll be too shy. You should just directly undo it.”

“Is that so?”

“When have I ever lied to you?”

Ying Xiu Jie nodded in understanding.

Then he locked onto a passing girl and followed behind her.

Suddenly, he covered her mouth from behind and pinned her against the wall.

“Don’t move, or I’ll kill you.”

The girl nodded frantically in terror.

“Tell me—how do you undo a bra clasp?”

The girl’s eyes widened as she desperately shook her head.

In the distance, Chu Hao Yu gestured instructions with his hands.

Ying Xiu Jie nodded again.

“I’m letting go now. If you scream for help, I’ll kill you.”

The girl nodded rapidly.

Ying Xiu Jie released her and, using the technique Chu Hao Yu taught him, successfully unclasped the bra through her clothes.

He triumphantly clenched his fist.

“Yes! I got it undone!”

In the end, Ying Xiu Jie received several more slaps before desperately apologizing enough to resolve the situation.
