JB – Extra Chapter 3: Marriage

As they walked further inside, Wang Cheng deliberately tugged Chu Yi Feng a few steps behind the others and quietly asked him a question.

“Is this Master Anita also one of Mama Emily’s admirers?”

Chu Yi Feng laughed.

The moment he reacted like that, Wang Cheng immediately knew the answer had to be yes. Although Anita had spoken Italian earlier, Wang Cheng had spent over a month in Italy before, so he could roughly understand what he meant. The first thing out of his mouth had been “Mama Emily.” There was no way he was not one of them.

“A lot of the jewelry my mother wears was personally designed by Master Anita,” Chu Yi Feng said.

“…”

If other people ever found out that the jewelry designed by the Anita they all dreamed of commissioning was piled high inside one woman’s jewelry box, they would probably go insane.

Anita had a private design studio inside the jewelry store, and unauthorized people were forbidden from entering. Only Liu Zhi Ya and the assistant he had brought with him were allowed inside, while the four bodyguards accompanying him stayed outside guarding the door. Even the jewelry store employees were not allowed to approach.

Anita really was one of Mama Emily’s admirers. After sitting down, nine out of every ten sentences out of his mouth were questions about her.

The more radiant and spirited he looked, the more Wang Cheng sympathized with him. Unfortunately, there was only one Mama Emily. Otherwise, outstanding men like Master Anita and Duke Austin would absolutely have been worthy of her with their status and abilities.

More than ten minutes later, Master Anita finally brought up business.

“The jewelry I design has never allowed clients to make requests. However, for Emily’s sake, I can allow the two of you to make two suggestions.”

Jewelry designers valued inspiration, and the more famous the designer, the more demanding they were about it. If they casually designed jewelry according to customers’ requests, then they could hardly be called designers at all—at best, they would simply be copying templates. Even a tiny request could end up limiting the direction of an entire piece of jewelry.

Master Anita’s standards in this regard were even stricter. Everyone who commissioned him to design jewelry knew this rule: he would not tolerate others pointing fingers at his creations. The moment someone displeased him, he could refuse to continue designing for them at any time.

The only person who truly understood the impact of Anita’s words was his assistant. In this world, the only person capable of making the master set aside his principles was Emily. Since the other party was Emily’s son, it was not all that surprising he would make such an exception.

Chu Yi Feng handed the decision over to Wang Cheng.

Wang Cheng shrugged. “I don’t really understand this stuff. I don’t have any particular requirements regarding the appearance of the rings. There’s just one thing I need to declare in advance.”

“What is it?” Chu Yi Feng asked, holding back laughter.

The other three people also looked at him.

Wang Cheng turned the ring on his middle finger, his brows furrowing so tightly they could practically crush a fly. After a moment, he said helplessly, “On the inside of the rings, I absolutely refuse to engrave initials again. Absolutely not.”

Chu Yi Feng burst out laughing. “When did you notice? You didn’t even check when I first gave it to you.”

Not checking at the time did not mean he never checked later. Wang Cheng shot him a disdainful look. He still remembered the expression on his face when he saw the two letters engraved inside the ring. His face had practically turned green. No wonder Chu Yi Feng had deliberately mentioned it back then—he must have been eagerly anticipating Wang Cheng’s reaction after discovering the initials. If that ring had not been the very first birthday gift Chu Yi Feng had ever given him, Wang Cheng would have thrown it away on the spot.

“What secret are you two talking around?” Anita asked curiously. “Why don’t you want initials engraved? Wouldn’t that make it more meaningful?”

Chu Yi Feng only smiled without saying anything.

Wang Cheng was equally unwilling to explain something so embarrassing. Neither of them spoke, and the design studio suddenly fell silent.

Liu Zhi Ya also did not quite understand the issue. She only knew Wang Cheng was now called Zhou Cheng, something everyone in the Imperial Capital knew. Very few people knew he had once been called Wang Cheng.

Knowing Wang Cheng was too embarrassed to explain, Chu Yi Feng clarified, “Uncle Anita, my partner wasn’t originally named Zhou Cheng. His surname used to be Wang.”

Anita blinked. His Chinese was not especially fluent, so he did not immediately connect the dots.

Liu Zhi Ya and the assistant silently pieced it together in their heads. The initials of Wang Cheng’s name were W and C. Put together, that became WC…

“Pfft!”

Wang Cheng silently glanced at the two of them. He had known people would definitely laugh after learning the truth.

Anita finally understood as well, amusement shining in his eyes. “Mr. Zhou, actually, you don’t need to mind it. You’re surnamed Zhou now, not Wang.”

That was true. Wang Cheng nodded, feeling slightly comforted. Truthfully, he had once entertained a mischievous idea: engraving initials into the wedding rings. His original thought had been to engrave WC inside the ring Chu Yi Feng wore. But now he no longer wanted any connection whatsoever with the Wang surname, so he abandoned the idea.

“All right then. Also engrave the date we first met. Those are my only requests. As for the rest, please design them according to your own ideas.”

Wang Cheng trusted Anita. Since he was such a famous designer, he would definitely create something satisfying.

Anita smiled. He liked straightforward people the most.

“OK. Then come back in half a month to pick them up.”

Half a month was already considered extremely fast. Every step of Master Anita’s jewelry—from design to the finished product—was handled with the utmost care. Inspiration alone could take months if it did not come easily. Then came selecting the gemstones and the crafting process itself. Even polishing gemstones required tremendous effort.

After that came all the miscellaneous preparations for getting married overseas. The two of them decided to marry in Denmark, the first country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage, making it especially meaningful.

They invited many relatives and friends. Wang Cheng’s adoptive parents were also brought to the Imperial Capital before the wedding and were currently staying at the Gu family estate. Everyone had a tacit understanding to keep the truth from Father Wang. Father Zheng, however, could no longer be kept in the dark. A few days after the news of their marriage spread, he found out. At first he thought it was just a rumor, but when he mentioned it to Mother Zheng after returning home, she casually replied that it was true, leaving him stunned. Even now, he still had trouble accepting it.

Everyone agreed that since they had hidden it for this long, there was no need to tell Father Wang immediately. Once everything was set in stone, he could be depressed all he wanted.

Time seemed to pass especially quickly. Half a month disappeared in the blink of an eye. After collecting the rings, they began arranging the wedding.

To avoid making the ceremony too rushed, they invited all the guests to Denmark three or four days in advance. The flights, lodging, and meals were all covered by them. Father Wang was also brought to Denmark under the excuse of taking him traveling, and he never suspected a thing.

Aside from relatives, Wang Cheng did not invite many friends. Originally, he had not wanted to invite his eldest uncle Zheng Sheng Ming’s family to the wedding, but Chu Yi Feng said this would be a good opportunity to make them fully recognize reality, so they ended up inviting them anyway.

Zheng Sheng Ming had long known there was something unusual between Wang Cheng and Chu Yi Feng, but he had always assumed nobody believed it. After news of their marriage spread, they even brought it up with the old master, only for him to remain completely unconcerned. It was not until this day arrived, seeing all the guests gathered in the grand cathedral, that the family finally fell silent. It turned out people had not disbelieved it at all—they had simply known all along and accepted it. They had ultimately lost to the second branch of the family.

After realizing this, even Feng Yu Ying became much quieter afterward. She usually acted brainless, but she still understood what mattered.

Elegant music echoed throughout the cathedral. Nearly half the seats on both sides were filled with guests, every one of them staring unblinkingly at the two men standing before the priest. Other than Father Wang, everyone already knew about the wedding the moment they received the invitation, and they had long prepared themselves mentally. From initial disbelief to now witnessing the wedding scene in person, they were once again stunned by how handsome the two men were. Handsome men truly were handsome men—even getting married looked like something out of a fairy tale.

The priest’s voice slowly rang out as everyone widened their eyes to witness Wang Cheng and Chu Yi Feng’s wedding ceremony. Many people might never see two men getting married in their entire lives, so they wanted to savor every moment. The only person still completely out of the loop was Father Wang.

Father Wang had originally been hanging his head low, still reeling from the shock of his son turning into someone else’s bride. But Mother Wang forcibly straightened his head, leaving him no choice but to watch in anguish as his beloved son got married.

Father Wang sat stiffly in his seat, his smile looking even worse than crying.

Father Zheng sympathetically patted Father Wang’s shoulder, understanding his feelings all too well. Back when he first learned the truth, he had been just as shocked. The only difference was that Mother Zheng had forced him to accept it in an especially brutal manner. Watching Father Wang now, he felt incredibly fortunate he had learned the truth beforehand. Otherwise, his family probably would have hidden it from him until this very day. He would much rather know in advance than be blindsided during the wedding itself.

“Try to look on the bright side.”

Father Wang had barely let out a miserable sound when Mother Wang shot him a warning glare sharp enough to slice flesh, as though saying, “If you dare ruin our son’s special day, I’ll never let you off.” Faced with that, he instantly swallowed all his grief back down.

Father Zheng felt even more sympathy for him.

Ah, they truly were pitiful men suffering from the same fate.

Emily smiled warmly as she watched the two newlyweds on stage, her expression full of longing but even more full of relief. “This is wonderful. Our son has finally found happiness. I was always worried he would become like he was ten years ago. Now I can finally relax.”

Hearing this, Chu Li raised an eyebrow. “I told you long ago there was no need to worry about that brat.”

“That may be true, but he’s still my son. If you won’t worry, then I will.” Emily was not in the mood to argue today. As long as someone could change her son, she could accept them regardless of whether they were male or female.

The Chu Yi Feng of his teenage years had been completely different from the current him. Back then, he had been sharp and dazzling, the coldness in his bones practically unconcealed, ruthless and merciless. At first, nobody realized his personality was like that until the illegitimate son of the Aimoer family, who had been living outside the family, appeared.

The Aimoer family had already been lacking heirs for some time, and Old Locke no longer cared about the grudges of the past. So once the illegitimate son’s identity was confirmed, he accepted him as part of the Aimoer family. However, the man had returned with the intention of seizing the Aimoer family fortune. After coming back, he immediately began plotting to take the inheritance and even attempted to kill Chu Yi Feng.

But how could an illegitimate son possibly be Chu Yi Feng’s match? Before his plan could even be carried out, Chu Yi Feng had already chopped off his fingers on the right hand and toes on the left foot one by one. The bloody scene remained vivid in everyone’s memory even now. If Old Locke had not pleaded for mercy and admitted that the Aimoer family would forever belong to Chu Yi Feng, the illegitimate son would probably have died without leaving behind a complete corpse.

“Today is our son’s big day. Don’t think about those unlucky things from the past anymore. What’s done is done,” Chu Li said as he looked toward the couple.

The priest announced it was time to exchange rings.

Chu Yi Feng took out the rings Master Anita had designed for them. The rings were understated yet luxurious, much like the two of them. The inside of the ring in his hand was engraved with Wang Cheng’s initials in both Chinese and English. He slid the ring onto Wang Cheng’s ring finger. From today onward, this man truly belonged to him.

Wang Cheng picked up the slightly larger ring. The two rings were identical in design, each set with a deep blue gemstone that emitted a subtle, restrained brilliance. Inside was engraved Chu Yi Feng’s name. Once he wore it, Chu Yi Feng would belong to him.

“From now on, you’re my person,” Wang Cheng said with a smiling gaze as he looked into his eyes.

A sexy smile curled at Chu Yi Feng’s lips. “It would be my honor.”

After the rings were exchanged, the priest officially declared them husbands.

Thunderous applause erupted throughout the cathedral.
