Strangely enough, neither Su You Yan’s nor Gong Zhu’s photos appeared on the university forum. Only pictures of the Taekwondo Club and a blood-red headline remained. Even stranger, the people who had previously gone after Zhou Xin He, Gong Zhu, and Chu Hao Yu all came to apologize with bruised and swollen faces. Yet only four people had participated in the fight last night. The ones who framed Ke Bu also went to apologize to the dean of discipline. Everything seemed to be going far too smoothly.
Ke Bu was led into an empty school building inside the university grounds. The Taekwondo Club sign hanging at the entrance swayed as if it could fall at any moment. The others were already inside cleaning up. The place had plenty of sunlight, a great location, and an amazing view outside the windows.
“What are you guys doing here?”
“This is the room for our club,” Chu Hao Yu said.
“What club? Since when did we become a club?” These people were way too impulsive.
“Quick Shot Club.”
“Don’t casually pick a name like that! Wasn’t this originally the Taekwondo Club room?”
“You Yan said that before she and Lord Zhi Li came to the library yesterday, they took a detour here to inspect the environment and have a friendly discussion with the Taekwondo Club members. Then, in order to promote harmony between first-years and second-years, this club room was handed over to us while they relocated elsewhere,” Gong Zhu explained seriously.
“You actually believed that bullshit?! Those two are even capable of having a ‘discussion’?”
Ke Bu quickly pieced together the truth in his mind.
“They aren’t?” Zhi Li asked in return.
“Don’t make that face. Definitely not.”
“I think I’m pretty kind-hearted.”
“Your understanding of kindness is way too vague!”
“What?”
“Right, what happened with the university forum?”
“Zhang Luo handled it.”
Forgot to mention—Zhang Luo was an expert with computers.
“Who’s Zhang Luo?”
“An unimportant person.”
“Don’t brush it off so casually!”
At that moment, the “unimportant person” walked in dragging network cables behind him. He naturally began inspecting the entire club room to find the best place to install the cables. Zhang Luo glanced at Ke Bu and gave him a small nod along with a smile that felt far too meaningful.
“And you are?”
“I have many titles. Zhi Li’s roommate, the eighth member of the group, invincible hacker. You can call me Zhang Luo. This is my wife, Li Jiao Jiao.”
Zhang Luo placed his laptop on the desk and opened it.
Anyone who gave their computer a name like that definitely was not normal.
“You could’ve just said your name.”
Compared to that, Ke Bu cared more about the first title.
At that moment, Chu Hao Yu interrupted his train of thought.
“Yo, Zhang Luo.” He raised an eyebrow.
“You guys already know each other?”
“Of course. I regularly copy porn from him.”
Ke Bu ignored Chu Hao Yu’s words and continued thinking.
Zhi Li’s roommate…
Which meant—
Ke Bu immediately stepped forward and slammed the laptop shut.
“Did you see it? What happened that night?”
Zhang Luo’s eyes instantly darted toward Zhi Li before he looked blankly back at Ke Bu.
“See what? The camera was broken during that period. I hadn’t gotten around to fixing it yet.”
Ke Bu finally relaxed.
“Good thing you didn’t see it.”
“Zhi Li, how good is this guy at fighting?” Ke Bu asked. After the Su You Yan incident, he had started reevaluating everyone’s ranking within the group.
“A complete waste,” Zhi Li answered.
“Just like I guessed.”
The two of them were having an incredibly rude conversation right in front of Zhang Luo.
At that moment, Ying Xiu Jie interrupted.
“Ke Bu, don’t think pretending to chat with your lover lets you escape work. Hurry up and take down the Taekwondo Club sign outside.”
Being suddenly called lovers made Ke Bu pout as he walked outside to remove the sign. After taking down the Taekwondo Club sign, he discovered another sign underneath it: Music Club. So the Taekwondo Club had originally occupied someone else’s room too. Once the Music Club sign was removed, there was yet another underneath it: Badminton Club!
What kind of evil university was this?
Chu Hao Yu clapped his hands.
“Let’s go buy supplies. Ke Bu guards the place. Zhi Li watches Ke Bu.”
Even though Ke Bu was lazy by nature, the way Chu Hao Yu phrased that sounded extremely strange.
Now only two people remained.
Ke Bu piled the removed signs behind the door. Zhi Li sat by the window drawing, his legs bent on the chair, wrist constantly moving as he sketched. Zhi Li’s pale figure filled the background scenery.
Ke Bu realized he had been watching Zhi Li draw like this for many years already—from when he had merely been a beautiful boy to now, when he had become Ke Bu’s lover. His gaze had never once left him.
Zhi Li turned his head and tossed the pen toward Ke Bu.
“Fetch~~~”
“No matter how many times you do that, I’m not going to carry it back in my mouth. Because I’m not a dog.”
Ke Bu bent down, picked up the pen, and walked over to return it.
Standing behind Zhi Li, he looked at the sketchbook.
“Sometimes I seriously wonder whether you can actually draw. This skill level is about kindergarten senior class level.”
“Don’t casually attack other people’s hobbies.”
“But your face doesn’t look remotely hurt.”
“Instead of standing around doing nothing, why don’t you go guard the door?”
Ke Bu wrinkled his nose at Zhi Li and decided to move the desk near the entrance over by the window. The solid wooden desk was heavy, and Ke Bu could only lift one side with difficulty while dragging it inward.
Zhi Li put down the sketchbook and walked over to lift the other side.
“Where do you want it?”
“By the window.”
After placing the desk down, Ke Bu rubbed his waist like an old man. Sitting atop the desk, he ended up face-to-face with the standing Zhi Li at exactly eye level.
“Let me calculate how many times I owe you now. Once during military training, once when you helped me put up the poster board. Even though you said it didn’t count, you know what kind of person I am—I never owe anyone even a cent. This time doesn’t count either. So it’s only two times total.”
After hearing Ke Bu’s speech, Zhi Li placed both hands on the desk, trapping Ke Bu between his arms.
“Talking like this between us feels too distant. It’s three times. Yesterday’s fight counts too.”
“Do you realize your previous sentence completely contradicts the next one?! Didn’t you just say talking like this was too distant?! Fine, three times then.”
“You can slowly repay me.”
A crafty glint flashed through Zhi Li’s eyes.
“Wait. What was that expression just now?”
“You saw wrong.”
“Did I?”
Only then did Ke Bu realize how close they were standing. He casually turned his head aside, his gaze flickering uncertainly. Embarrassment spread like a blush-colored emotion. He pressed his lips together.
His heart skipped slightly.
“Making that expression… are you asking me to violate you?”
Ke Bu reached out to cover Zhi Li’s eyes and murmured softly:
“Wrong guess. I want you to kiss me.”
Ke Bu’s lips moved close to Zhi Li’s. The slightly upturned lips were lightly bitten and rubbed against.
Ke Bu had never expressed his feelings for Zhi Li through overly mushy words, but just how much he liked him—he believed Zhi Li had definitely already noticed.
That anxious yearning simply could not be hidden.
But how was he supposed to act after kissing?
Ke Bu stared blankly at Zhi Li before suddenly pushing him away.
“We should get back to work.”
He truly had zero talent when it came to dating. How did normal people talk and act in situations like this?
Definitely do not ask Zhi Li. Last time he asked him something similar, he ended up getting ravished.
Apparently, Ke Bu was the only one troubled by this. Zhi Li calmly returned to his seat, picked up the pen, and prepared to continue drawing, only to discover the tip had snapped earlier when it fell.
In a casual voice, Zhi Li called out:
“You Yan, sharpen the pencil.”
“What exactly do you treat You Yan as? And she spoils you way too much. Wait—You Yan’s here?!”
Su You Yan stood up from a hidden corner where she had been quietly reading. Walking over, she pulled out a sharpener from her bag.
Ke Bu genuinely could not define the relationship between these two. They were not lovers, nor did they feel quite like friends.
But now was not the time to think about that.
“You-you heard that?”
“Heard what?” Su You Yan asked.
“Nothing. Good if you didn’t hear anything. Couldn’t you at least make some noise over there?”
Ke Bu finally relaxed, the burden in his heart lifting.
But the next scene made him want to return to a cave and live in isolation forever.
Su You Yan stared at Zhi Li.
“Making that expression… are you asking me to sharpen it into a round tip?”
That line sounded strangely familiar.
[Original reference: “Making that expression… are you asking me to violate you?”]
Zhi Li cooperatively replied:
“Wrong guess. I want you to sharpen it into a square tip.”
That response also sounded strangely familiar.
[Original reference: “Wrong guess. I want you to kiss me.”]
“Are you two trying to kill me?!”
Ke Bu completely lost control and slammed his head toward the desk.
But instead of hitting the hard tabletop, he crashed into the back of Zhi Li’s hand, which had reached out in front of him.
