ZL2 – Chapter 75: While You’re Young, Live to the Fullest Part II

“Then let’s split into teams. Hao Yu and me, Ke Bu and Zhi Li, Lan Yin and Xin He, You Yan and Gong Zhu. Perfect. Except for our team, every team is stuck with deadweight lowering their combat power. We’re definitely winning!” Ying Xiu Jie and Chu Hao Yu were already high-fiving as though they had won. His description immediately drew fierce protests from all the alleged deadweight, but Ying Xiu Jie acted as though he couldn’t hear them and began warming up in place. “Who wants to challenge the champions first?”

Zhi Li tossed the sandbag in his hand. “Start.”

“Contestants, take your positions. Everyone else, please move to the spectator area. Listen carefully to the strict rules of the competition. The team standing in the middle wins if they catch the sandbag once without either member being eliminated. Then, in the next match, the team that was in the middle switches to the sides. If you think it’s unfair, complaints will be ignored. Most importantly, no physical contact is allowed. Any physical contact will result in automatic disqualification. Let us wait and see who claims the championship! And to increase everyone’s enthusiasm, the losers must provide twenty-four hours of servant service to the winners—no dignity, no refusing any demand from your master. Violators will die without question!” Zhang Luo had appeared at some point, holding a megaphone and acting as commentator.

“Did you ask anyone whether they agreed to that?!” Ke Bu cursed.

“Sounds fun.” Lan Yin had spoken. The condition had apparently caught her interest. Her sinister gaze locked onto Zhi Li like a wolf capturing prey. Damn it. She isn’t going to take this seriously, is she? Don’t panic. Don’t panic yet. This is a two-person competition, and she has Xin He with her. Even if we can’t hit Lan Yin, we can keep targeting Xin He and wear her down. Let’s see how many times Lan Yin can bring her back.

Chu Hao Yu and Ying Xiu Jie stood in the center, while Zhi Li and Ke Bu took one side each. Ke Bu was full of confidence. These two weren’t weak, but handling them shouldn’t be too much trouble.

“Match start!” Zhang Luo announced.

Zhi Li threw the sandbag at Ying Xiu Jie. His movement was beautiful. The sandbag flew like a basketball and landed with perfect accuracy directly in Ying Xiu Jie’s arms.

“Team Ying-Chu wins!”

Victory arrived so suddenly that Ying Xiu Jie and Chu Hao Yu froze for two seconds before cheering wildly. Zhi Li looked confused. “How was the game played again?” Ke Bu dropped to his knees on the sand and pounded it with both fists. “You were supposed to ask that before we started!” Why did Ke Bu keep making the same stupid mistake without learning? Zhi Li did this all the time, didn’t he? He agreed to things without knowing anything. He had probably completely tuned out while Zhang Luo announced the rules too. Regret. Ke Bu was filled with regret. If Lan Yin won, who knew what perverted demand she would make of Zhi Li?

“Losers, please leave the field. Ke Bu, this isn’t the Olympics. Repeating: please leave the field.” Zhang Luo held the megaphone directly beside Ke Bu’s ear. Ke Bu grabbed it and threw it far away. He stood up, brushed the sand from his knees, and left the playing area. He had already lost. Now all he could do was hope Su You Yan won.

He mocked the unbothered Zhi Li. “People who aren’t afraid of losing really live happy lives.”

“I lost? When?”

“Put away that innocent face! You’re going to make me die of anger!” Ke Bu opened a bottle of ice water, tilted his head back, drank half, then handed it to Zhi Li as he continued watching the match. It was Su You Yan’s turn now. Gong Zhu stared fixedly at the sandbag in Ying Xiu Jie’s hand. Ying Xiu Jie aimed at Gong Zhu’s feet and threw. Fortunately, Gong Zhu dodged. As expected, everyone had the same strategy: eliminate the weaker person first. Since physical contact was forbidden, Su You Yan couldn’t simply pull him to safety when she noticed danger. Gong Zhu had to dodge on his own.

Chu Hao Yu picked up the sandbag and smiled wickedly. “That first one was only testing your reaction. I think you should just obediently surrender yourself to me.” Holding the bag, Chu Hao Yu hopped left and right, repeatedly pretending he was about to throw. Gong Zhu was so frightened he ran all over the playing area. Chu Hao Yu looked unbearably smug. Suddenly, he threw the sandbag at Su You Yan’s foot instead. Su You Yan easily dodged, but Ying Xiu Jie moved too quickly. He picked up the sandbag and immediately threw it at Gong Zhu, the entire process taking barely a second. Their coordination was so good that even Zhang Luo, watching beside them, became excited. “Gong Zhu is out! It’s now two against one! Who wins and who loses? Place your bets!” The people watching nearby began pulling out money. Most bet on Chu Hao Yu’s team. Zhang Luo had found yet another way to make money.

“You Yan, there’s no love on the battlefield. Don’t blame me. I still love you and your breasts very much.” After saying that, Chu Hao Yu threw the sandbag low. Su You Yan stepped forward and caught it before it touched the ground.

“Gong Zhu is revived.”

Gong Zhu had barely left the field and was just about to rest when he was called back. His little face scrunched unhappily. He complained coquettishly, “Just hit me already. I want to get eliminated. Look, my skin’s already turning red from the sun. I don’t want to play anymore. Xiu Jie, I won’t move, so don’t hit me too hard.” Gong Zhu closed his eyes. Ying Xiu Jie gently tossed the sandbag at him as a formality. Gong Zhu suddenly opened his eyes and caught it with all his strength. He jumped happily. “I caught it! I caught it! I caught it!”

“Xiu Jie, you idiot! Why did you believe him?!” Chu Hao Yu roared.

“Su You Yan and Gong Zhu win!” Zhang Luo was even louder. Their victory had made Zhang Luo money, so he continued speaking through the megaphone. “And now the highly anticipated final match is finally about to begin!”

Lan Yin stood up and stretched. She wasn’t deliberately doing anything, but the seductive aura coming from her body was impossible to hide. Three women plus Gong Zhu, who looked almost as delectable as a woman, turned the match into a visual feast that made the watching boys increasingly excited. Whistles sounded nonstop. Chu Hao Yu had already forgotten the disappointment of losing and began shouting encouragement. “Move around! Everybody move! Let those breasts bounce—” Ke Bu kicked him.

Just as the atmosphere reached its peak, the roar of a sports car unexpectedly sounded across the beach. There was one particular person who seemed to completely disregard traffic laws and could drive a car absolutely anywhere. Zhang Luo, who had been crouching on the sand, excitedly sprang to his feet. “So the real main event was still coming! He’s here! Is he here?! Boss!” The car stopped. The door opened, gradually revealing a man dressed in a suit. Words like mature and dashing seemed far too ordinary when applied to him. Zhi Zuo Si rested one hand against the car door as he closed it and coldly surveyed the scene before him. The front passenger door opened too. Dora, dressed in a brightly colored dress, came skipping out. “Brother Zhi Li!” Then both rear doors opened simultaneously and two little dolls climbed out. They ran forward on their short legs, pushing one another as they went. “Daddy! Daddy! We came to see you!” Ke Bu stared in alarm. Other than Zhi Xiao Ke and Zhi Xiao Xun, surely nothing else was about to crawl out of that car.

The corner of Lan Yin’s mouth curved upward. “Looks like we need to divide the teams again.”
