SB – Chapter 71: I Changed My Mind

Yan Ye had just gone downstairs when he saw Tong Yan’s car speed past in front of him.

Pressing the remote to unlock his car, Yan Ye got in, shifted gears, and started the engine all in one smooth motion. He had just been about to step on the accelerator and follow when Lin Zhi Yi cut him off.

The expensively dressed man stood by the roadside, touching his empty wrist as he smiled. “I didn’t have my driver come pick me up. General Manager Yan, give me a ride?”

Yan Ye looked at the taillights ahead and politely refused. “General Manager Lin, I have something urgent.”

Lin Zhi Yi nodded, stepped back, and while tapping on his phone, said, “Then go. I’ll call a car. Compared to having my driver come get me, I can save the money for one trip.”

Tong Yan’s car had already driven far away and was now only a black dot within sight. Yan Ye could not bother with Lin Zhi Yi, that miser, so he stepped on the accelerator and followed.

At this hour, neither fully night nor evening anymore, Sheng Yu usually came out after eating dinner at the old residence and drove back to his own apartment.

At an intersection he had to pass through, an ordinary commuter car was parked. Its color and brand were both unremarkable, yet Sheng Yu spotted it at a glance. His brow moved, and he turned the steering wheel, stopping near that car.

After getting out of the car, one hand tucked in his pocket, he bent down and cast his gaze into the car parked by the road. Once he clearly saw the person in the driver’s seat, a faint curve spread across his lips.

Leaning against the car, Sheng Yu crooked his fingers and knocked on the window. A smile spread across his face, carrying a touch of malice. “Waiting for me?”

Tong Yan pushed open the car door and got out. Standing in front of the man, he looked straight at him. “Sheng Yu, have we already broken up?”

The smile on Sheng Yu’s face faded a little. His sharp gaze looked Tong Yan through and through before he said, “Yes. When we broke up, you even slapped me, making my face swell for three days.”

The cars passing back and forth on the road roared by, and the whistle of wind they pulled up still could not cover Tong Yan’s sharp shout. “Since we’ve already broken up, then there isn’t the slightest relationship between you and me anymore. Why are you watching and listening in on me? What are you trying to do?!”

In an instant, Sheng Yu’s face turned gloomy, revealing a chill that made one’s spine go cold. “So you didn’t come to rekindle old feelings with me. You came to denounce me. Let me guess how you found out about this. Yan Ye told you?”

Tong Yan grabbed the man opposite him by the collar. “Sheng Yu, why are you doing this? This is fucking illegal, do you know that?”

Sheng Yu’s eyes turned vicious. “Good boy, when did you learn to curse? After chasing Xue Bao Tian for a few days, even the way you talk has become like his style?”

He leaned slightly closer, shortening the distance between himself and Tong Yan. “Then does he know that when you fuck someone, you like being on the bottom, doing things whichever way saves the most effort?”

“Sheng Yu! Shut up!”

“Now you don’t want me to say it anymore? Weren’t you just wanting me to explain everything clearly?” Sheng Yu fixed his eyes on Tong Yan, his gaze fierce and dark like a wolf’s. “Watching and listening in on you was so I could learn information about Yan Ye from Xue Bao Tian. Yan Ye can’t let go of Xue Bao Tian, and he doesn’t guard against him either.”

Tong Yan was stunned. “You used me?”

Sheng Yu shoved Tong Yan hard against the car. “Who told you to break up with me, then go pursue Xue Bao Tian? If you found yourself a good person, fine, but you actually found someone even more rotten than me. He used to be Yan Ye’s person. With that waist strength of yours that needs my help after moving a couple of times, do you think you can compare to Yan Ye?”

Tong Yan’s face flushed red, and his usually elegant features were now nearly ferocious. “Sheng Yu, aren’t you afraid I’ll tell Yan Ye about you gathering information?”

“Yan Ye and I have long been as incompatible as fire and water. Do you think this one layer of face that hasn’t been torn away yet matters?” Sheng Yu gripped Tong Yan’s jaw and leaned beside his ear, speaking softly. “If it weren’t for the fact that the person you were chasing was Xue Bao Tian, and that some information might leak out from his side, I would have gotten you back long ago!”

“You’re despicable!”

Ignoring Tong Yan’s furious gaze, Sheng Yu rubbed the man’s waist through his clothes. “What should we do? Now that Mr. Tong no longer has any value to be used, he can only obediently come home with me. Didn’t you say I was amazing? Have you missed me all these days?”

Tong Yan forcefully knocked that hand away and mocked him coldly. “Don’t think so highly of yourself. Even if I stay single for the rest of my life, I will never touch you again.”

Sheng Yu suddenly bent down and slung Tong Yan over his shoulder in one motion. “Then we’ll have to see whether it’s your mouth that’s hard, or the place below that’s hard.”

The car door was pulled open, then slammed shut heavily. Sheng Yu threw Tong Yan into his car, then sat in the driver’s seat and grabbed the man who was about to get out.

Holding down the struggling Tong Yan, Sheng Yu fastened his seat belt for him. “You’ve been locked up by me before and nearly wrung dry. If you don’t want to go through that again, behave.”

The four doors locked, and the car slid away. Only after it had gone far did a tall figure step out from the grass by the roadside, looking in the direction the car had driven off with an obscure, unreadable expression.

Xue Bao Tian read through the document carefully, then picked up his pen and prepared to sign his comments. Halfway through, he encountered a character he was not sure about, and by habit, he went to look through the dictionary. Seeing the pile of horizontal and vertical strokes, he clicked his tongue and muttered to himself, “This complicated? How many fucking horizontal strokes is this?”

Referring to the dictionary, Xue Bao Tian copied it stroke by stroke onto the paper. He had already completed ninety-nine bows, and just as he was about to finish that final shiver, the doorbell rang, ruining the character.

He pulled open the door in a fury, only for the person standing outside to actually be Yan Ye.

“Something wrong?” Looking at the person who had gone and returned, Xue Bao Tian blocked the doorway. He had already been unhappy to begin with, and now a new grudge had been added on top.

Yan Ye lifted the food container in his hand. “You didn’t eat much tonight, so I bought late-night snacks and brought them over.”

Under the dim light in the corridor, Xue Bao Tian sized Yan Ye up. He was still dressed the same as before, but with the night entering his eyes, he had gained a few more points of alluring charm.

He knew that Yan Ye had a dagger strapped to the outside of his ankle and knuckledusters in his pocket. As long as this man wanted to, he could take down anyone within a few seconds.

This man, fierce beyond compare and armed to the teeth, was now full of tenderness.

Fuck. The tip of Xue Bao Tian’s heart went numb, and his legs softened a little.

He turned and went back inside, but left the door open. Yan Ye followed him in and placed the late-night snacks on the chest of drawers beside the door.

As the corner of the door slowly closed and only one thread of light remained, Xue Bao Tian was impatiently pulled into the tall man’s arms. Yan Ye’s hands were slightly lacking in restraint, and the two of them crashed against the wall along the momentum, accidentally turning off the wall lamp and plunging the room into darkness.

Yan Ye habitually went to sniff the scent by Xue Bao Tian’s neck, and almost at the same time, Xue Bao Tian felt his arousal.

“What are you doing?” The voice in the darkness was somewhat hoarse.

“Has your cigarette scar healed?” Yan Ye slowly stroked the uneven mark through his clothes. “Let me see.”

“The lights are off.”

“I can see it.”

Xue Bao Tian felt his T-shirt being lifted little by little, pushed up beneath his chin. The cold air from the air conditioner wrapped around his skin without obstruction, making him shiver faintly.

While Xue Bao Tian’s thoughts were still lingering on whether the air conditioner temperature had been set too low, Yan Ye’s kiss had already landed on that cigarette scar.

After giving a soft “Mm,” Xue Bao Tian shut his mouth. The sound was too fucking womanly, and he despised himself a little.

The small round scar was kissed again and again by burning-hot lips. The damp sounds moved upward and landed by his ear.

“Does it still hurt?” Yan Ye seemed to ask with exceptional difficulty.

Rarely, Xue Bao Tian did not run his mouth, only gently shaking his head.

Yan Ye’s heartbeat seemed very fast. No one knew what he was struggling against. He groped him twice without order, satisfied the dry craving, then wrapped Xue Bao Tian back up again.

When the light was turned on, the sudden brightness pulled Xue Bao Tian’s dazed mind back. He could still feel Yan Ye’s “strength,” yet he heard him change the topic. “Be more guarded around Tong Yan in the future. He’s too easily used by Sheng Yu.”

“What’s going on?” Xue Bao Tian’s mind came back online. “Why are those two still tangled together?”

Yan Ye briefly told Xue Bao Tian what he had heard while hiding behind the shrubbery just now and placed particular emphasis on this: “Sheng Yu said Tong Yan’s waist strength isn’t good.”

Xue Bao Tian revealed an expression that said, as expected, then scoffed. “It’s not like I’m greedy for that bit of waist strength from him.” Hung neither up nor down, he lifted his eyelids, pressed closer to Yan Ye, and spoke in a frivolous tone. “I fucking have waist strength myself. Once we’re in bed, who’s the host and who’s the guest still isn’t certain.”

Yan Ye was silent for a while, then pushed Xue Bao Tian away and began undoing the buttons of his clothes. He had always been coy and hesitant, but now he was straightforward. Summer clothes were light and thin, and in the blink of an eye, he had stripped himself clean.

“Whether host or guest, I can do either. Choose me. Master Xue can decide.”

Xue Bao Tian was slightly stunned, then turned his head and burst into laughter. He took a cigarette from the chest of drawers, put it into his mouth, and laughed as he cursed, “Little idiot.”

Smoke slowly spread through the air. Beneath the incandescent light, Yan Ye’s body was like a sharp blade capable of cutting through gold and jade. Xue Bao Tian inspected him inch by inch through the smoke, then finally reached out and tugged at that plain safety plaque. “What ridiculous trick is Sheng Yu trying to pull now?”

Xue Bao Tian wound the cord around his finger, and Yan Ye could only lean down slightly. “Recently, he’s been making frequent little moves in private. He seems a little eager for quick results.”

“He’s seeing that you’re gradually becoming established, so he’s getting anxious?”

“I’m investigating him. I won’t let him succeed.”

“Do you need me to help with anything?” Xue Bao Tian asked with the cigarette between his fingers.

Yan Ye looked at Xue Bao Tian for a long while, then slowly pulled him close in front of him. “There is actually one thing I can’t do myself, and I need Master Xue’s help.”

“What is it?”

A gentle kiss landed beside his lips. “Teach me how to pursue you.”

“What?”

“Two Hundred, teach me how to pursue you.”

“Fuck, can you be any lazier?”

Yan Ye kissed him, but did not go deeper. “Everything I know was taught by you. You have to take responsibility to the end.”

The cigarette between his fingers had gone unattended for a long time. His throat slowly rolled, and Xue Bao Tian taught him in a low voice. “Call me Baobao and let me hear it.”

Yan Ye froze. “Don’t you dislike it?”

“Call it and let me hear.”

His voice was hoarse and suppressed. “Baobao.”

“Mm.”

That soft, slow sound pierced the night and dropped a tiny stone into the lake of Yan Ye’s heart, yet it stirred up towering waves.

He abruptly swept the man into his arms, clenching his teeth tightly. “Baobao, when pursuing you, I didn’t want to touch you.”

Xue Bao Tian flicked away the cigarette butt and looked over lightly. “So?”

Yan Ye suddenly bent at the waist, slung Xue Bao Tian over his shoulder, and in two or three steps pushed open the bedroom door.

“So, I changed my mind.”
