Zheng Jingen closed the car door and glanced at Wang Ning’an, whose face was flushed and burning hot, his hand unconsciously tugging at his collar. A surge of self-reproach rose in Zheng Jingen’s heart. If he had known something like this would happen, he never would have invited him to this kind of place. “How do you feel right now? Can you still endure it?”
Wang Ning’an’s consciousness was already a little hazy. Hearing his question, he forced himself to answer, “I feel a little uncomfortable. Don’t tell me I was drugged with an aphrodisiac?”
“I think so. The drug was probably in that glass of ice water. That waiter was likely bribed. Drink some water first and see if it helps.” Zheng Jingen found a bottle of mineral water in the car and handed it to him.
Wang Ning’an took the bottle and drank more than half of it, but it was useless. His body grew hotter and hotter, and the clothes on him were nearly torn off by his own hands. Even with his firm willpower, he was almost unable to endure it. The drug in the ice water clearly was not ordinary; its effects took hold very quickly.
Seeing how much pain he was in, Zheng Jingen knew it was already too late to go to the hospital. Two seconds later, he made a decision and quickly drove the car to a secluded place. He unbuckled both his own seat belt and Wang Ning’an’s, then stared at Wang Ning’an’s flushed face and said, “There’s only one way to help you now. Bear with it for a while.”
Before Wang Ning’an could react to what he meant, Zheng Jingen’s hand had already reached for the belt at his waist. After unfastening it, he was about to pull down the zipper when Wang Ning’an immediately grabbed his hand, his mind clearing slightly.
“What are you doing?”
“If this continues, you won’t be able to endure it. I’ll help relieve the effects of the drug first, then take you to the hospital.” Zheng Jingen knew Wang Ning’an might feel embarrassed. In truth, he had never done something like this either, but there was no room to care about that now.
Wang Ning’an knew he was doing this for his sake, and his mind immediately fell into a fierce internal struggle. He had never imagined letting another man help him get off. Even while under the influence of the drug, he instinctively rejected such a thing, but the drug’s effects had tormented him to the point that he could barely withstand it anymore.
Seeing Wang Ning’an grow more and more uncomfortable, with cold sweat already soaking his forehead, Zheng Jingen stopped caring about his consent. Since he was the one who had brought Wang Ning’an out, he had to take responsibility now that something had happened. He immediately pulled Wang Ning’an’s hand away.
Perhaps Wang Ning’an truly could not endure it anymore, because he did not refuse again.
As a fellow man, Zheng Jingen knew what to do to make the other person feel good. The moment his hand touched Wang Ning’an, he immediately heard Wang Ning’an sharply inhale above him, followed by an uncontrollable moan. Zheng Jingen had thought Wang Ning’an would last for a while, but unexpectedly, it did not take long before he came. Wang Ning’an’s reaction gave him the sense that he had very little experience in this area, which genuinely surprised him. From Wang Cheng, Zheng Jingen had learned quite a few things about Wang Ning’an.
He had heard that Wang Ning’an had dated several girlfriends before, so Zheng Jingen had assumed he had plenty of experience. Judging from this, although he had had girlfriends, he likely had never crossed that line much. For some reason, Zheng Jingen felt a faint trace of joy in his heart.
Because the drug’s effects were rather strong, Zheng Jingen had to help him release three times before Wang Ning’an finally eased somewhat. Looking at Wang Ning’an’s face, which was still very red, he asked, “How do you feel now?”
Wang Ning’an’s consciousness had already returned by the time Zheng Jingen helped him the third time. Right now, aside from embarrassment, there was only more embarrassment. Fortunately, his eyes were closed. He had absolutely no idea how to face Zheng Jingen now. From this moment on, he felt that his relationship with Zheng Jingen could no longer be explained as ordinary friendship.
Zheng Jingen understood his mood and did not speak again. He glanced at his hands, which were covered in sticky fluid. There was a faint fishy smell, but strangely, he did not feel disgusted at all.
When Wang Ning’an opened his eyes, he saw Zheng Jingen staring at his own hands, which still had Wang Ning’an’s release on them. His expression instantly turned uncomfortable. When Zheng Jingen looked over, he immediately looked away, both embarrassed and awkward. “You… hurry and wipe that off.”
As though discovering a new continent, Zheng Jingen could not help revealing a faint smile. Only then did he draw out some tissues and wipe his hands clean.
The sound reached Wang Ning’an’s ears. He finally understood what it felt like to want to find a hole in the ground and crawl into it. Never in his life had he felt this awkward. Even when his company went bankrupt, he had never been this unsettled. In the end, a ringing phone saved him.
Zheng Jingen answered the call. It was Luo Sheng.
Before leaving the bar, Zheng Jingen had told Luo Sheng about Wang Ning’an being drugged. Luo Sheng was furious as well. With both him and Zheng Jingen present, someone had still dared to provoke them right under their noses. It was absolutely outrageous. After the two left, Luo Sheng immediately had the bar manager bring that waiter over.
The bar manager knew Luo Sheng’s identity. Seeing him angry, he immediately had the waiter brought in. It turned out the waiter was new and had only been working there for a few days, so he did not recognize Zheng Jingen or Luo Sheng. If he had known, he would never have dared help that customer drug Wang Ning’an even if he had ten times the courage.
That customer was the man who had brushed against Wang Ning’an earlier. Seeing Wang Ning’an’s outstanding appearance, he had developed lustful thoughts and bribed the new waiter to put something in Wang Ning’an’s water. Originally, he had arranged further steps afterward, but he had not expected Zheng Jingen to take Wang Ning’an away so quickly.
The customer who had drugged him was a rich second-generation heir. After realizing he had offended someone from the Imperial Capital’s princeling circle, he kept apologizing to Luo Sheng, even kneeling without dignity to beg for forgiveness.
Luo Sheng did not know how to handle the matter, so he asked Zheng Jingen for his opinion. Zheng Jingen then asked Wang Ning’an what he wanted to do.
Zheng Jingen had the phone on speaker, so Wang Ning’an also heard Luo Sheng’s words. He hated the person who had drugged him. If not for him, he and Zheng Jingen would not have had to experience something so awkward.
“I don’t want to let that person off too easily. Have Luo Sheng handle it as he sees fit.”
After Zheng Jingen replied to Luo Sheng, he hung up. “Do you still want to go to the hospital?”
“Yes!” Wang Ning’an was not completely unaffected yet. Besides, he was afraid Luo Sheng might later ask how the matter had been resolved, so going to the hospital would give him an excuse.
By the time they finished at the hospital, it was already very late. Zheng Jingen had originally wanted to suggest staying overnight at his nearby apartment, but Wang Ning’an insisted on going home. Right now, he did not want to be alone in the same room with Zheng Jingen. Zheng Jingen seemed to guess what he was thinking and did not ask further.
This matter became a secret between the two of them. Even Luo Sheng did not know.
Afraid that seeing Zheng Jingen would make him recall what happened that night, Wang Ning’an did not meet him for some time. When they met again, it was already half a month later. He had arranged to discuss business with an important client at a restaurant, only to unexpectedly find Zheng Jingen there as well—and he was on a blind date with a woman.
When Zheng Jingen saw Wang Ning’an, surprise and delight were clearly visible in his eyes. He stood up without the slightest hesitation to greet Wang Ning’an and even pulled him over to sit with them. His movements and attitude were noticeably more intimate than before, making Wang Ning’an feel somewhat uncomfortable.
“What are you doing? I still have a client.” Wang Ning’an stared at him, his eyes carrying a warning.
Zheng Jingen replied quietly, “Help me out. It’ll be quick.”
Wang Ning’an frowned. “Help with what?”
“You’ll know in a moment.” Zheng Jingen deliberately kept him in suspense.
Zheng Jingen’s blind date had not expected someone to join them halfway through. Fortunately, it was a man, and a man who looked just as high-quality as Zheng Jingen at that. Not only did she not mind, she was actually excited. This was not her first blind date, but it was the first time she had encountered two excellent candidates at once. Perhaps she could choose one of them. Just thinking about it made her excited. The woman suppressed her excitement, coughed lightly, and spoke.
“May I ask who this gentleman is?”
Hearing her question, Zheng Jingen immediately put an arm around Wang Ning’an’s shoulders and smiled. “Let me introduce him. His name is Wang Ning’an. He’s my boyfriend.”
The woman: “!!!!”
Wang Ning’an: “…”
As Zheng Jingen wished, the woman was scared away. Before the blind date, she had never heard that Zheng Jingen was gay. She did wonder if he had deliberately said that because he did not want to go through with the blind date, but given his identity, it was impossible for him to casually use such an excuse. Was he not afraid the rumor would spread and affect his reputation? Therefore, he might really be gay.
Wang Ning’an’s face darkened. If he had known this was the “help” Zheng Jingen wanted, he would never have stayed no matter what. Now look what had happened—he had somehow gained a boyfriend without even knowing when.
“Zheng Jingen, don’t you think this joke has gone too far?”
Hearing him directly call his full name, Zheng Jingen knew Wang Ning’an was truly angry. He immediately restrained the smile on his face. “What if I said it wasn’t a joke?”
Wang Ning’an froze slightly. After a long moment, he looked at him with unfamiliar eyes. “Do you know what you’re saying?”
“Of course I do.” Zheng Jingen said this after thinking about it for quite some time. After that night at the bar, every night when he closed his eyes, Wang Ning’an’s flushed face would appear in his mind, and then his heartbeat would slowly speed up. He was no innocent youth experiencing such things for the first time. He understood very well that this feeling was called attraction. However, he also understood even more clearly the obstacles between them.
So after considering it for some time, he decided to accept the blind date arranged by his grandfather. He thought that doing so might lessen his feelings for Wang Ning’an. But even he had not expected the two of them to be so fated. Half a month later, they had actually run into each other at the same restaurant.
Seeing Wang Ning’an chatting and laughing with his client, Zheng Jingen, for the first time during a blind date, found himself completely distracted. He realized Wang Ning’an had not noticed his presence, so he could not resist testing him to see how Wang Ning’an would react after learning he was on a blind date with a woman. The result disappointed him. Once he came back to his senses, Zheng Jingen also felt his behavior was rather childish. But when he heard Wang Ning’an say he was joking, he truly could not hold back and spoke the thoughts in his heart.
He was no longer young either. Born into a political family and valued as the eldest grandson, he should have married and had children long ago. Yet he had persisted until now simply because he still held a trace of hope in his heart. He did not want an arranged marriage like the elders, sacrificing his own happiness for the family. However, he also knew how difficult it was to find someone who truly loved him. Because of that, part of him had already started resigning himself to fate.
But then he realized he had actually developed feelings for a man. He had even begun thinking that spending the rest of his life with him might not be so bad. And so, he wanted to fight for it. Rather than spend the future filled with regrets, he would rather try once. At least then, he would know he had made an effort.
