“What are you screaming about so early in the morning?” Feng Xuanyi asked with obvious annoyance, digging at his ear. Lifting his dark eyes toward Ning Xuan, he somehow even managed to look pitiful. “I didn’t even do anything to you.” But the moment the words left his mouth, he seemed to realize something sounded off and added under his breath, “Even if I wanted to do something to you, I didn’t get the chance yet…”
Ning Xuan had no time to listen to Feng Xuanyi’s nonsense. His brain had already exploded. Last night he had clearly fallen asleep on the couch outside the bed curtains, so why had he woken up in bed instead—and not just any bed, but the bed of a man who had obvious intentions toward him?! And why was one arm draped around his waist in a half-embrace? Why were they sharing the same blanket in such a bizarrely intimate way?!
If looks could ignite flames, Ning Xuan’s eyes would already be shooting fire everywhere.
As though reading his thoughts, Feng Xuanyi wore an expression that looked both hesitant and innocent, making Ning Xuan feel uncomfortable all over. “I really didn’t do anything to you,” he said, before seeming to reconsider his wording. “At least, I didn’t actively do anything to you. You were the one who climbed into bed in the middle of the night. If anyone got the short end of this, it should be me. I’ve never shared a bed with anyone before, and then you came climbing over. Now I’ve generously given you half my bed and put in all this effort, yet you’re still looking at me like that. Honestly, not worth it at all.”
As he spoke, Feng Xuanyi’s seemingly innocent gaze kept drifting over Ning Xuan’s body, intentionally or not, making him increasingly uncomfortable.
Following Feng Xuanyi’s line of sight downward, Ning Xuan looked at himself—and instantly froze.
The Ning Xuan who had gone to sleep the previous night wrapped up tightly without even removing his outer robe was now completely naked, not a single thread left on him. Something exploded violently in his mind. Carefully moving his legs, he realized there did not seem to be anything physically wrong with him. At least, nothing obvious. But he could feel the silk blanket brushing directly against his skin far too clearly. Which meant not only had his outer robe and inner garments disappeared, even his underpants had mysteriously vanished.
The tiny bit of spirit he had managed to gather instantly shattered as his entire body petrified. Ning Xuan could practically hear the cracking sounds of his stiffened joints grinding together.
Slowly, mechanically, he lifted his head and met Feng Xuanyi’s completely calm expression. Then, inch by inch, his gaze lowered again.
Because of Ning Xuan’s earlier scream, Feng Xuanyi had already sat upright impatiently. The blanket slid down with the motion, barely covering below his lower abdomen and exposing a broad expanse of pale but powerfully built chest.
That chest—which by all rights should have been flawless and pristine from a pampered upbringing—was instead scattered with blotches and marks. Faint pink ones. Dark purple ones. What should have resembled a perfect work of art, all smooth lines and firm muscle, now carried an unmistakably suggestive and indecent air.
The overwhelming visual impact struck Ning Xuan so hard he nearly blacked out. His mouth dropped open uncontrollably, jaw practically dislocating as his almond-shaped eyes widened round with shock. Yet not a single sound came out.
It was not that his thoughts were dirty. Nor was it that he had simply let his male instincts run wild first thing in the morning. But seeing this scene—who could stop themselves from thinking too much?!
Seeing Ning Xuan’s reaction, Feng Xuanyi remained utterly unconcerned. “Oh, this? There’s nothing to mind if both parties were willing,” he said casually, before suddenly leaning closer and breathing warmly against Ning Xuan’s ear. “Though you are the first person daring enough to leave marks on me, I don’t dislike it.”
A bolt from the blue crashed directly onto Ning Xuan’s head. He felt fried inside and out. At this point, he would gladly accept anything—fainting on the spot or someone simply telling him this was all a dream.
If someone lightly poked Ning Xuan right now, they would probably witness the rare miracle of a human turning to dust.
“Though I personally wouldn’t mind you staying in bed longer, I still have court this morning. Yi Shu and the others should be coming in soon. Are you sure—” Feng Xuanyi’s suggestive gaze slowly swept across Ning Xuan, who had already wrapped himself tightly into the blanket like a rice dumpling from sheer panic. His eyes roamed over him like tangible caresses. Just being looked at this way made Ning Xuan tremble involuntarily.
Ning Xuan suddenly yelped in realization. Right—who would want others seeing them in such a miserable state?! Besides, no matter how anyone looked at it, he was obviously the one at a disadvantage here. No one would dare criticize the master. At worst, Feng Xuanyi would simply gain a reputation for being romantic and charming. But servants were different. People would say anything—fox spirit, shameless, climbing into the master’s bed without dignity, and countless other ugly accusations.
Honestly, even that would not matter much if it were true. After all, Ning Xuan was a modern young man who had received higher education. His psychological resilience was hardly comparable to ancient people buried thousands of years ago. But the problem was—it wasn’t true! He had been forced! He had not wanted this! If he had known things would end up like this, he would have propped his eyelids open with matchsticks and stayed awake all night!
Watching Ning Xuan clutch the blanket with one hand while frantically searching around with the other in complete chaos, Feng Xuanyi let out a sigh. “After everything that should and shouldn’t have been seen was already seen last night, what’s the point of covering up now?” he said before flipping out of bed. He casually picked up the scattered clothes from the floor one by one and tossed them toward Ning Xuan.
The moment Ning Xuan heard those words, blood rushed straight to his head. His face turned scarlet enough to drip blood. Whirling around, he lowered his voice into an angry hiss. “Don’t think you can just make things up because I don’t remember anything! How can I trust only your side of the story when none of that even happened?!”
But then he saw Feng Xuanyi standing by the window completely naked. Even the final layer of underpants he should still have been wearing before bed had somehow disappeared as well. Ning Xuan immediately jerked his head away, the corners of his eyes burning red along with his face. “You’re still a prince! Do you even have any sense of shame?! At least put on some pants!”
Hearing this, Feng Xuanyi merely shrugged as though Ning Xuan was being completely unreasonable. Still, he obediently bent down to pick up the underpants from the floor while muttering under his breath, “Who keeps their pants on during sex anyway?”
Ning Xuan felt smoke rising from the top of his head. How could there be such a shameless person in this world?!
Looking down at his own equally naked body, Ning Xuan was miserable beyond words. What exactly had happened here?! How had he gone from sleeping outside to waking up tangled naked together with Feng Xuanyi? Thinking back to the scene when he first woke up—two unclothed male bodies entwined together, with one arm wrapped around his waist—Ning Xuan shivered violently as cold sweat crept down his back.
Could someone please explain what the hell had happened?!
Looking at his own flawless body, smooth as fine porcelain without a single mark, and noticing that his waist did not ache and his legs did not hurt, Ning Xuan then recalled Feng Xuanyi’s otherwise perfect body being covered in suspicious marks.
A horrifying possibility slowly formed in his mind.
The shock was so intense he could only stiffly clutch the clothes in his arms without even managing to put them on.
Could it really be that he had secretly climbed into Feng Xuanyi’s bed in the middle of the night and inexplicably “attacked” him? And Feng Xuanyi had not resisted at all?
Most importantly…
Did that mean he had been the one on top—
while His Highness the Fifth Prince, Prince Rong himself, had actually been the one underneath?!
